Studio
Urbanink is a creative agency and printshop which specializes in branding, typography, illustration, website design, letterpress and screenprinting. We have recreated identities, reimagined spaces, and designed online experiences. As producers/designers we have collaborated on award winning public art, from concept to fabrication.
the team
Urbanink was founded over twenty years ago by its creative director, Marcelle Lussier. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba, she has been a guest speaker at the Art Now series, as well as 10x20x20, and maintains an active presence in Winnipeg’s arts scene. She has served on the Boards of the Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art, Martha Street Studio, and is currently involved with the Centre culturel franco-manitobain. In studio, Marcelle is joined by lead designer and photographer Jordan Wooster, as well as her partner, press operator, and industrial fabricator Shaun Slavuta, whose expertise is key to realizing the studio’s multidisciplinary approach to design.
the space
Designed and built by us from the ground up—our studio and printshop in Woodhaven is the home of Urbanink and YOUI Paper Co. We own and operate two Heidelberg Windmill letterpresses, and ensure that the work we design for our clients meets the highest standards of production by offering these services in-house, which allows for complete quality control.
